At Nester, every decision is guided by our vision of creating a more inclusive, transparent, and empowering financial space. With this in mind, we are delighted to announce an exciting milestone for our team: Dawood Ahmedji has joined Nester as our new Head of Asset Management.
A 27-Year Journey in Finance
Dawood brings over 27 years of experience in corporate and Islamic finance which include:
- Pioneering Deloitte’s Islamic Finance team in Europe and MENA
- Initiating the M&A Lead Advisory practice in Saudi Arabia
- Advising governments, corporates, and private equity on complex M&A transactions and M&A strategy
His proven track record underscores his ability to deliver ethical, innovative solutions for a broad range of stakeholders.
Broadening Nester’s Product Range
When asked to describe his new role at Nester, Dawood put it simply:
“My role in Nester will be to broaden the product offering for both institutions and retail investors. We’re going to create more asset classes for people to invest in and essentially expand our funding base.”
This focus on diversification will drive the expansion of Nester’s Sharia-compliant investment offerings and reinforce our commitment to ethical finance. With Dawood’s appointment, we see an incredible opportunity to enhance the solutions we offer both retail and institutional investors.
The Next Chapter for Nester
Dawood’s leadership marks a defining new chapter at Nester. His expertise, combined with the vision of our founders, Youness Abidou and Mohammed Paracha, will help us:
- Diversify funding channels to provide robust financing options
- Expand Sharia-compliant investment products for a growing global market
- Strengthen our leadership in Islamic finance and property investments
- Empower our community with transparent, trustworthy financial solutions
A Personal Note from Dawood
“It is a great opportunity for me to be joining the Nester team at this pivotal moment on their journey. Youness and Mohammed have established the foundations of a compelling investment and funding proposition on an innovative platform.
"I look forward to being part of the next chapter to develop a suite of institutional and retail asset classes, building on these foundations. Despite positive market developments in recent years, the market for Sharia-compliant assets and funding solutions remains underserved. I’m excited to be part of Nester’s vision to play a leading role in addressing this gap.”
Looking Ahead
We are confident Dawood’s extensive experience in M&A, corporate finance, and Islamic finance will propel Nester to new heights. By combining his expertise with our vision for inclusive, ethical finance, we aim to strengthen Nester’s position as a leader in Sharia-compliant property investments in the UK—and to expand our presence in the broader global market.
Reflecting on the road ahead, Youness Abidou (Co-Founder & CEO, Nester) shares:
“From day one, we set out to create financial solutions that are accessible and ethical. Dawood brings the experience and vision we need to build upon that mission, and I’m excited about expanding our Sharia-compliant offerings going forward.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mohammed Paracha (Co-Founder, Nester) adds:
“We founded Nester to offer a fresh perspective on inclusive finance, and Dawood’s track record shows he deeply understands the needs of both retail and institutional investors. His leadership will help us expand our reach and create new opportunities across the board.”
The entire team is thrilled to welcome Dawood Ahmedji to the Nester family. We look forward to the opportunities his expertise and leadership will bring to our growing platform and community
